- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- State Tested Nursing Assistant certification is required.
- A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required.
- The candidate must qualify to drive under the organization's motor vehicle check.
- Provide activities of daily living and personal care, including bathing, back rubs, oral hygiene, hair care, dressing and undressing assistance, skin care, and toileting assistance.
- Perform and document duties assigned by the registered nurse, and observe, record, and report clients' care, symptoms, and emotional and physical status.
- Take vital signs when ordered.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Assist with ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care, and perform range-of-motion exercises and other simple procedures as ordered.
- Assist patients with self-administration of medication.
- Keep patients' living areas clean and orderly, change bed linens, do client laundry as appropriate, provide housekeeping services, and run errands.
- Meet patients' safety needs and use equipment safely and properly.
- Update and submit documentation accurately and on time.
