Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a broker-dealer environment.
  • Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and broker-dealer regulatory requirements.
  • Preferred: Possession of the Series 27 Financial and Operations Principal (FINOPs) license, enabling the issuance of regulatory filings. Or have a willingness to obtain the license.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting operations of our subsidiaries, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes of the broker dealer entity and associated subsidiary entities (acquired as part of a recent acquisition).
  • Prepare and file all required financial and regulatory reports with FINRA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Provide leadership and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and high performance.
