About the job

Requirements
  • You have built and shipped machine learning or artificial intelligence-driven features to production.
  • You are excited to apply language models to real-world, unstructured datasets and turn them into valuable product experiences.
  • You understand when to use a large language model, when to write a regular expression, and when to ask the user.
  • You understand the value of experimentation in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • You have experience working with large language model application programming interfaces, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, or fine-tuning.
Responsibilities
  • Develop intelligent systems and tools using large language models, generative artificial intelligence solutions, and heuristics to streamline bookkeeping and financial workflows, and build infrastructure for evaluating those systems.
  • Teach best practices around machine learning system design, evaluation, prompt engineering, and scalable artificial intelligence infrastructure.
  • Learn how to process messy real-world financial data, including scanned PDFs, unformatted CSVs, and text-heavy emails, using language models.
  • Improve internal tooling and infrastructure for classification, tagging, summarization, and user-in-the-loop artificial intelligence systems.
  • Build an assistant that powers a critical bookkeeping workflow.
  • Collaborate with operations, product, and engineering to understand customer workflows and identify where artificial intelligence could reduce user pain.
  • Review current artificial intelligence infrastructure and propose improvements to evaluation infrastructure, harness design, shared memory, durability, and other foundational components.
  • Scale evaluation pipelines and make harnesses more extensible.
  • Implement or improve document extraction and financial transaction tagging systems using heuristics and model-based approaches.
  • Collaborate with design and product to make artificial intelligence features reliable, intuitive, and helpful.
  • Own and scale the systems that form the backbone of the company's artificial intelligence CFO vision.
  • Contribute to long-term artificial intelligence strategy, including which tasks to automate, how to measure confidence, and when to keep a human in the loop.
  • Build internal tooling for prompt iteration, embedding search, labeling, and retraining.
  • Share learnings in a post on the engineering blog or through an open-source tool addressing messy real-world data problems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working on products involving transactions, finance, document processing, or communications tooling.
  • Experience with TypeScript and artificial intelligence tooling such as Vercel AI SDK, Braintrust or similar evaluation vendors, and provider application programming interfaces including Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, or Jev.

About the company

Ambrook helps agriculture and natural resource businesses make sustainability practical by improving profitability. It offers software that tracks, analyzes, and reports environmental and resource-use data, enabling farmers and resource managers to implement sustainable practices while reducing costs and increasing margins. The product likely integrates with farm operations and data sources to quantify the financial impact of sustainability actions and to prioritize initiatives with the best ROI. Ambrook differentiates itself by focusing on turning sustainability into measurable business value rather than just compliance or reporting. The goal is to make sustainable practices financially attractive so that more operations adopt them and achieve better long-term performance.

What believers are saying

  • Ambrook closed a $30 million Series B on August 3, 2026.
  • Management says customer count grew from 2,500 to 8,000 in twelve months.
  • December 2025 inventory, 2026 recurring invoices, and NatGLC deepen workflow lock-in.

What critics are saying

  • QuickBooks remains the accountant-approved default, weakening Ambrook's replacement pitch.
  • Expansion into trucking, construction, and property management distracts from agriculture depth.
  • If farmers keep QuickBooks and use Ambrook as a feature, Ambrook loses.

What makes Ambrook unique

  • Ambrook unifies accounting, bill pay, banking, and inventory for farms and ranches.
  • Its books follow farm realities: fields, crops, seasons, livestock, and Schedule F.
  • The August 2026 Series B backs expansion across independent-operator verticals.
