Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of experience.
  • At least seven years of progressive experience in installation, integration, and testing of electronic security projects valued at more than $500,000.
  • Experience in the security industry.
  • At least two years of experience managing security projects as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Foreman.
  • Experience installing conduit and wiring systems.
  • Experience with head-end programming and testing of access control and video management systems.
  • Common knowledge of basic network infrastructure.
  • Experience with management systems for scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
  • Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash-flow projections.
  • Proficiency in the Critical Path Method scheduling method.
  • A history of completing projects under the estimated hours.
  • Reliable attendance at the customer site during required work hours.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, safe, and high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, scheduling, site safety, permit and regulatory compliance, and communication with project stakeholders.
  • Use project safety plans, including Job Hazard Analyses, Activity Hazard Analyses, and Pre-Functional Work plans, and develop building schedules with a 12-week or longer look-ahead.
  • Perform quality reviews of company-produced design documentation and evaluate the constructability of complete drawing packages.
  • Conduct B1 take-offs, manage daily materials, and perform material and labor planning to update four-week look-ahead forecasts.
  • Support logistics planning for personnel and equipment and track project metrics, including time and materials, through unit tracking and field quality control.
  • Identify and obtain all required permits, licenses, and inspection filings before work begins.
  • Manage crew activities, keep crews on task, ensure work is installed on time, monitor overtime hours, and determine labor requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and employee satisfaction in coordination with Human Resources, monitor employee BTA points, and conduct interviews to hire applicable candidates.
  • Participate in weekly resource-allocation meetings, create resource-loaded schedules covering manpower, materials, and equipment, and maintain an accurate project organizational chart.
  • Complete project documentation, including Change Orders, Requests for Information, and Detailed Daily Reports, and return documentation to site quality-control representatives.
  • Partner with engineers to drive prefabrication, develop project prefabrication plans and schedules, and manage the prefabrication process without over-ordering.
  • Respond to and report accidents and incidents, lead daily Operational Risk Management meetings, and review and store Activity Hazard Analyses related to the project scope.
  • Participate in configuration and programming of systems, manage base-switch configurations, and execute PITCO plans and testing to verify quality and identify process improvements.
  • Complete quality-control inspections and ensure work complies with plans, specifications, codes, industry standards, QC plans, and checklists.
  • Oversee installation of system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, grounding, and communication and security rooms, and terminate and test system components.
  • Communicate with the general contractor, owner, project teams, other trades, and customer representatives; attend scheduled project meetings and serve as a reliable field-operations contact.
  • Work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Certification in one or more access-control systems, particularly Lenel OnGuard.
  • Certification in video-management systems.
  • 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and First Aid certification.
  • Common knowledge of biometric systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

The Lean Construction Institute, Arlington, Va., has named Brian Perlberg as CEO to succeed Dan Heinemeier, who retires in December.
