Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license, Juris Doctor, or Master of Science in Taxation is required.
  • At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, including experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated analytical and technical tax skills.
  • Demonstrated client service and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, with verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the firm to client management.
  • Analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in all aspects of tax engagements.
  • Supervise and mentor staff.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Review individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and seniors for accuracy.
  • Research and draft memoranda involving complex tax matters.
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
  • Handle and resolve tax controversies.
  • Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and industries.
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
  • Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
  • Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
