New freestanding branch on West University Drive reflects the credit union's continued investment in one of North Texas' fastest-growing communities. MCKINNEY, Texas (May 20, 2026) - Texans Credit Union has officially broken ground on a new branch in McKinney, its first newly built location in nearly two decades. The branch, located at West University Drive and Bois D'Arc Road, is expected to open in early 2027 and will bring the credit union's overall branch footprint to 15 locations. The groundbreaking comes during a period of sustained growth for Texans Credit Union, which reported organic membership growth of 7.5% in 2025, twice the industry average. In just the past five years, the number of members who choose to bank with Texans has grown by 26%. "The upgrades we've made to digital and personal experiences in recent years have enabled us to grow sustainably and expand thoughtfully," said David Frazier, president and CEO of Texans Credit Union. "McKinney continues to experience tremendous growth, and our expanded presence means more North Texas families will have access to a financial institution that's genuinely invested in their success." North Texas ranks among the fastest-growing regions in the country, fueled by corporate relocations, population growth, and a strong job market. McKinney sits in the center of the regional corridor, seeing extraordinary growth, making it a strategic priority as Texans Credit Union pursues measured branch expansion to serve its members in the areas where they live and work. The new branch will offer the McKinney community the full suite of banking, lending, and investment services that all Texans Credit Union members benefit from, including its first-time homebuyer mortgage program designed to help Texans get into their first homes comfortably with little to no money down. In the last year, the credit union has also launched its Texans Two-Step checking account, which offers members a checking account linked with a high-yield savings account. In just the last year, Texans Credit Union returned more than $30 million in dividends to its members, including through reduced fees and better rates.
