  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in controllership, legal entity control, and/or financial or regulatory reporting within a regulated financial services environment, including exposure to complex legal entity structures, governance expectations, and controlled close and reporting operating models.
  • Strong United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) accounting and financial reporting experience, including hands-on preparation or review support across month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, and financial statement tie-outs; ability to apply US GAAP to routine and non-routine transactions, assess accounting impacts, and produce clear, audit-ready documentation and support.
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting production, validation, and controls, including reconciliation to underlying books and records.
  • Experience driving reconciliation quality and balance sheet substantiation routines and supporting audit issue remediation.
  • Experience supporting finance-driven projects and initiatives, including close process improvements, controls remediation programs, reporting improvements, automation or standardization, and system or process implementations; this includes coordination, requirements support, testing or user acceptance testing, and implementation tracking.
  • Good working knowledge of value-added tax (VAT) and withholding tax, including core concepts and common finance touchpoints such as invoice or transaction flows, reconciliations, and reporting timelines, with the ability to partner effectively with Tax stakeholders and identify or escalate potential issues.
  • Ability to operate with a no-surprises escalation mindset and keep stakeholders informed of risks and progress.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions and support shared team goals and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, validate, and deliver period-end US GAAP reporting outputs, including financial statement tie-outs and supporting documentation, and ensure timely and accurate submission in line with the close calendar and governance forums.
  • Coordinate and track the monthly close to hard deadlines, including inter-entity break monitoring and resolution follow-up, unnatural balance monitoring, foreign exchange (FX) trade-out reviews, and variance or flux analysis; escalate risks early to enable an accurate, on-time book close.
  • Coordinate incremental quarter-end and year-end close requirements, including additional journals, reconciliations and substantiation, governance checkpoints, and deliverable tracking to timeline.
  • Coordinate production activities, perform data validation and control checks, manage timeliness tracking, and reconcile regulatory returns to underlying books and records.
  • Support confirmations and reconciliations, maintain documentation, and coordinate tracking of allocation and service-recharge processes.
  • Prepare and coordinate senior leadership financial packs and governance materials, validate key figures and narratives, challenge significant movements where appropriate, and deliver clear, timely outputs for relevant forums and stakeholders.
  • Investigate breaks, suspense items, and aged items; support root-cause analysis, coordinate remediation activities with stakeholders, and track actions through closure with appropriate evidence.
  • Support appropriate cut-off, accruals, and documentation for material profit-and-loss drivers as required by activity.
  • Coordinate audit and regulatory requests, including walkthroughs and evidence provision; respond to information requests and track findings and actions through closure with appropriate remediation support.
  • Strengthen and maintain the control framework in line with Legal Entity Controller standards, including evidence and documentation expectations and timely remediation of control gaps identified through testing, audits, or operational learnings.
  • Contribute to process and system change initiatives, including automation and standardization, close workflow enhancements, reporting tooling improvements, system migrations, and implementations, by supporting requirements gathering, testing or user acceptance testing, cutover and go-live readiness, and implementation tracking.
  • Act as a point of contact for defined deliverables during close and reporting periods, run working sessions as needed to resolve breaks and align stakeholders, communicate status clearly, and escalate risks early, especially during peak close and reporting periods.
