Beyond next-door banter: how Cadbury Celebrations is turning everyday 'nok-jhok' into sweet Diwali moments. Discover how Cadbury Celebrations' new Diwali campaign turns everyday neighbourhood banter into sweet reunions with premium chocolate mithai and shoppable festive gift guides. Oct 19, 2026 - 15:23 Boost SEO Traffic Discover more Boost SEO Traffic Grow Your Brand Connect Online Diwali in urban India is as much about festive lights as it is about the lively dynamics of residential societies. From classic arguments over parking spaces and noisy late-night celebrations to pet squabbles and rogue cricket balls, neighbourhood life is built on a delicate balance of daily friction and underlying warmth. Capturing this authentic slice of modern Indian life, Cadbury Celebrations has rolled out its latest Diwali campaign - positioning chocolate gifting as the ultimate icebreaker to melt past grievances and restart relationships on a sweet note. From squabbles to sweetness: the heart of the campaign. The campaign centers on a relatable reality: while minor tiffs with neighbours are inevitable, the spirit of Diwali offers an opportunity to extend an olive branch. A simple knock on the door accompanied by a box of sweets can instantly diffuse lingering bitterness and foster genuine connection. Highlighting the unique warmth beneath everyday bickering, Vinay Subramanyam, Vice President - Marketing at Mondelez India, noted that Diwali serves as a crucial moment to pause and appreciate the people around Sociapa News. "We bicker, we banter, but underneath, there is bonhomie, especially during Diwali," he shared. Echoing this sentiment, Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy India, emphasized the transformative power of a small gesture: "There's enough bitterness in the world, but a little sweetness has the power to go a long way. It doesn't take much to soften a hard feeling: a knock on the door, a plate of Meetha, a little generosity." Cadbury's festive innovation: merging tradition with 'Milky Mithai' To bring this concept to life on the palate, Mondelez India has expanded its premium offering with the launch of the Cadbury Celebrations Milky Mithai range. The line blends traditional Indian mithai flavors with fine chocolate, featuring: * Milky Mithai Squares: Kesar Pista flavor. * Choco Mithai Squares: Crispi Rabdi, Badam Barfi, and Kesar Badam. * Elevated Premium Packaging: Gold-accented gift boxes spanning assortments like Silk Selections, Bournville Selections, and Rich Dry Fruit Jars. With price points ranging from under ₹100 up to ₹250-₹575, the brand ensures accessible premium gifting across all consumer segments. Hire Brand Experts Digital-First strategy: shoppable guides and creator commerce. Beyond storytelling, Mondelez is leveraging modern media strategy to capture festive demand. Partnering with WPP Media, Cadbury Celebrations is turning festive moments into direct commerce opportunities. Shekhar Banerjee, President - Client Solutions (South Asia) at WPP Media, highlighted that Diwali functions as a week-long journey of distinct rituals, reunions, and gifting moments. By deploying a creator ecosystem, the brand is crafting seamless, shoppable gift guides tailored to specific relationships and occasions, allowing consumers to select the ideal pack with a click. Supported by an integrated 360-degree campaign across TV, digital, social media, and in-store touchpoints, Cadbury Celebrations reinforces its position as the go-to gift for making peace and making memories this Diwali.

Mondelēz finds success beyond Oreo with nostalgic cookie brands.

Mondelēz finds success beyond Oreo with nostalgic cookie brands. The snack giant's smaller cookie brands, such as Nutter Butter, Nilla Wafers and Honey Maid, are seeing a pickup in sales as consumers embrace familiarity. Published Oct. 19, 2026 Honey Maid, Nilla Wafers and other smaller cookie brands with nostalgic roots have become a big success for owner Mondelēz International despite years without meaningful innovation. For a snacking giant best known for Oreo and Chips Ahoy!, Mondelēz is experiencing surging demand for its smaller cookie brands that have long been reliable, slow-growing performers, said Caroline Suppiger, brand manager of Mondelēz's specialty cookie portfolio. Mondelēz's so-called Americana brands segment, with more than $1 billion in annual sales, is having a "breakout year" after two years of declines, Suppiger said. The segment includes Nutter Butter, Barnum's Animals Crackers, Teddy Grahams, Mallomars, Nilla Wafers and the largest brand, Honey Maid Graham Crackers. "Our Americana brands have been performing really well this year, and historically they've always been stable or growing very slowly," Suppiger noted. "Mondelēz is kind of going back to the basics a little bit and highlighting some brands that haven't historically been highlighted." Sales in Mondelēz's specialty cookie segment are up 4% this year through Sept. 12 compared to the same period in 2025. The growth comes as the broader cookie category experiences flat sales, making Mondelēz's success with its smaller decades-old standbys even more impressive. Even two of the company's signature brands, Oreo and Chips Ahoy!, which have $2.1 billion and close to $1 billion in annual sales in the U.S., respectively, have seen the growth of their core offerings slow. Much of Oreo's and Chips Ahoy!'s growth has come from innovative new products. But many of the specialty cookies have a small portfolio that hasn't seen meaningful innovation in years. Nilla, for example, has about five SKUs, while Honey Maid has nine, and Nutter Butter has 10. By contrast, Oreo has roughly 120 SKUs in the U.S. alone, and releases about a dozen specialty flavors each year. Mondelēz's specialty cookie portfolio is benefiting from festivities tied to America's 250th birthday celebration and the growing interest in nostalgia as consumers turn to brands that remind them of their childhoods, Suppiger said. This has led to an uptick in consumers using Graham Crackers and Nilla Wafers for baking or as a vessel for dips - categories where some brands like Chips Ahoy! typically don't participate. "There's just been a lot of consumers enjoying what they know," Suppiger said. For years, the specialty brands "nurtured themselves," with the exception of routine "maintenance" like a change to an ingredient or packaging, she said. Mondelēz is now aiming to tap into the recent surge in demand by marketing the brands more aggressively beyond their core occasions. The company wants to take Honey Maid beyond s'mores into holidays such as Easter, and promote Nilla for more than just banana pudding. Mondelēz chefs, for example, recently tested the wafer in a tiramisu as part of an effort to expand the brand into other holidays and desserts. "This is the first time we've left this maintenance phase [to]... let's actually think a little bit larger with some consumer-facing marketing," Suppiger said.

Conagra, Mondelez and Penske: 3 US dividend stocks for a higher-for-longer rate climate

With Federal Reserve officials signalling that borrowing costs may stay higher for longer, with rates near 3.9% and inflation above target, a Simply Wall St screen has picked three US large-cap value stocks for income investors. Conagra Brands, a $6.4 billion packaged foods group, is funding Project Catalyst, a process and technology overhaul. Most financial benefits are expected from fiscal 2028 onward. Mondelez International, valued at $77.1 billion, kept its pricing actions after earlier cocoa cost spikes. Management calls the cocoa market structurally oversupplied in 2026, which may steady input costs. Penske Automotive Group, a $12.9 billion transportation services group, is growing higher-margin service and parts income. Retail Automotive brings in about $27.9 billion of its revenue.
