Requirements
  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable transactions, including issuing expense checks and ACH vendor payments.
  • Establish and maintain vendor records in Ascend software: Ensure W-9 forms are obtained, Select appropriate general ledger accounts for expenditures, Use GL defaults for consistent postings, Ensure invoices are properly approved in Ascend, Assign correct invoice approvers to facilitate timely payment, Obtain and update vendor ACH information.
  • Perform weekly check runs/ACH payments and ensure timely disbursements.
  • Assist with annual preparation of 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding late invoices or payment concerns.
  • Develop proficiency with the report writer function in Ascend.
  • Collaborate with vendors to streamline invoice delivery and promote ACH payment setup.
  • Crosstrain on other departmental functions and provide support as needed.
  • Manage recurring reporting tasks and special projects independently.
  • Maintain organized records and files, including scanning and document management.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, copying, and mailing.
  • Ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including BSA responsibilities.
