Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • An Associate’s degree in a related field; additional years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Security+ certification is required.
  • Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate certification is required.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundations certification is required, or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience administering firewalls.
  • Ability to implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures.
  • Experience installing Microsoft Windows Server in host and compute environments and using server images.
  • Experience implementing storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advanced network infrastructure, and server environment maintenance and monitoring.
  • Ability to provide support in a 24/7/365 environment, including rotating after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
  • Ability to travel to continental United States sites for temporary duty support.
  • Must be a United States citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and manage AFCENT and USCENTCOM security devices, including intrusion detection and prevention systems, LogRhythm Enterprise Security Manager, ACAS, End-Point Security Systems and Host-Based Security Systems, and associated Virtual Private Network equipment and configurations.
  • Assist in developing and documenting sensor processes and checklists.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to AFCENT NOSC Cybersecurity to resolve network issues and ensure that intrusion detection and prevention sensors collect and report network activity.
  • Diagnose and resolve end-user problems.
  • Ensure end users adhere to proper security policies and procedures.
  • Build tactical and strategic network profiles of specific systems and complete network architecture.
  • Develop system concepts of operations and engineering plans to execute security requirements for new and existing systems, focusing on incident response policies and procedures.
  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth, network architecture, and network security incidents.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new vulnerabilities and exploits.
  • Develop methods to detect and prevent intrusive activities.
  • Assist in developing countermeasures to isolate, contain, and prevent intrusive activities and improve security.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and fault isolation to ensure network connectivity to sensor equipment.
  • Conduct network security monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using selected security tools, including intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, proxies, routers, Enterprise Security Manager, Logger, Fidelis, Host-Based Security Systems, and LogRhythm logs.
  • Maintain End-Point Security Systems, Host-Based Security Systems, and all related Defense Information Systems Agency-mandated point products.
  • Provide local-area network and wide-area network support.
