About the Program:

Wing is hosting a 12 week paid internship during the summer of 2024. It will be an in-person, hybrid internship based in Palo Alto, CA with start dates either in May or June. Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return to the program after the completion of the summer internship. 

About the Opportunity:

Wing is looking for a Hardware Engineer Intern to join our team based in Palo Alto, CA. Our team develops the next generation of unmanned electric aircraft.  In this role, you will be bringing up, programming, and modifying a standalone board while working with the vehicle hardware team.  You will be making this board optimize charge rates, communicate with the aircraft, and communicate with the high power charger.  This will include understanding and refining requirements, hardware changes, and modifying the board’s prototype software.

What You’ll Need:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, graduating between December 2024 and August 2025
• Experience in electrical engineering: reading and understanding an electrical schematic, measuring voltage waveforms, soldering, rework, hands-on circuit troubleshooting
• Experience with microcontroller / embedded programming and debugging of some platform (eg. Arduino, STM32, PIC)

Bonus: 

• Experience in PCB design, power electronics, power transistors, low-speed analog design, new PCB bring-up, 
• Familiarity with STM32
• Experience with Linux, bare-metal CPU programming, RTOS
• Experience with C or C++
• Familiarity with Li-ion or Li-po batteries
