About the job

Requirements
  • Five to seven years of total experience, including four to five years in SQL and data analysis, three to four years with business intelligence tools, and two to three years with Google Analytics.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, common table expressions, complex analytical queries, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Expert-level Looker skills, including LookML development, Explores, dashboards, data visualization, and self-service analytics design.
  • Google Analytics 4 implementation, configuration, reporting, tracking strategy, and data warehouse integration.
  • Two to three years of experience in experimental design and statistical testing, including hypothesis formulation and results interpretation.
  • Three to four years of descriptive and inferential statistics, trend analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • One to two years of hands-on AI-augmented analytics and large language model usage, including AI agent development, prompt engineering, output validation, and quality standards.
  • Four to five years of stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, executive communication, presentation, and trusted-advisor relationships.
  • Three to four years of business analytics, including customer segmentation, lifetime value and churn analysis, KPI development, metric definition, and translating business questions into analytical frameworks.
  • Two to three years of team leadership through mentoring junior analysts, code review, standards enforcement, and development of team best practices and documentation.
  • Three to four years of project management, including end-to-end analytical project ownership, managing concurrent initiatives, and proactive insight delivery.
  • Practical delivered experience using large language model and AI tools is required; theoretical familiarity alone is insufficient.
Responsibilities
  • Own analytical initiatives end to end, from framing business questions and scoping analysis through execution, presentation, and stakeholder follow-through; proactively surface KPI trends, anomalies, opportunities, and risks.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for customers, executives, and internal stakeholders, providing interpretive framing and actionable recommendations.
  • Advise Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, Account Management, and Support/Operations on analytics; challenge assumptions with data and translate findings into decision-relevant narratives.
  • Design and support statistically valid A/B test experiments, including hypothesis definition, sample sizing, success and guardrail metric selection, and results analysis; communicate findings to Product and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Serve as the team's primary Google Analytics subject matter expert; own GA4 reporting, custom dimensions and metrics, tracking plan validation, and GA-to-warehouse integration; advise on tagging strategy for new features and launches with the Lead MarTech Solutions Architect.
  • Build and maintain high-performing Looker Explores and dashboards for business stakeholders, owning deliverables end to end.
  • Develop and maintain documented, tested LookML for owned domains, including dimensions, measures, derived tables, and Explore configurations, consistent with semantic layer standards.
  • Ensure metric definitions are canonical and aligned with Analytics Engineering governance; identify and resolve discrepancies between business intent and semantic-layer implementation.
  • Expand self-service analytics for non-technical users across Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance, targeting coverage across at least two new business units per half-year.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency of production Explores and dashboards as data warehouse structures change, identifying discrepancies proactively.
  • Own the accuracy and freshness of in-scope data products; investigate quality issues with root-cause evidence and work with Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers to resolve upstream problems.
  • Write performant SQL and collaborate with Data Engineers on query optimization, compute cost efficiency, and derived-table design for owned analytical workloads.
  • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers on LookML architecture and semantic-layer design; provide analytical requirements and validate data models against business logic.
  • Partner with the Senior BI & AI Analyst on customer analytics definitions for segmentation, lifetime value, and churn; incorporate Data Science machine-learning outputs accurately in dashboards and narratives.
  • Understand the pipelines feeding owned dashboards well enough to diagnose freshness and quality issues, escalate them to the appropriate team, and communicate resolution timelines.
  • Own team coding standards and analytical best practices, including SQL style guides, LookML conventions, documentation requirements, and pull-request reviews; conduct substantive reviews that develop junior analysts.
  • Mentor Junior Data Analysts through paired analysis, direct feedback, and structured review; track improvement and escalate development needs or blockers to the Manager.
  • Build reusable shared assets, including SQL query patterns, LookML components, analysis frameworks, and documentation templates.
  • Contribute at least one standards update, governance policy, or best-practice guide per year.
  • Apply large language model and AI tools such as Gemini, GPT-4, and Cortex Analyst to analytics workflows, including insight narration, anomaly detection and explanation, and dashboard annotation.
  • Design and build self-service analytics agents for stakeholders to query data and surface insights in natural language; own prompt design, output validation, and iteration.
  • Configure Cortex Analyst or equivalent AI-assisted business intelligence platforms, including semantic model templates and YAML definitions, to provide accurate, governed answers to business questions.
  • Define quality standards for AI-generated analytical outputs, including accuracy validation, hallucination detection, and review before sharing insights externally or with executives.
  • Prototype AI tools to reduce repetitive analytics work and present build-versus-buy recommendations and documented lessons learned to the Manager for the shared AI analytics playbook.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to two years of Python or other programming experience for data manipulation and automation, including version control with Git and code review.
