24 Hour Home Care to lay off over 700 employees.

24 Hour Home Care to lay off over 700 employees. 24 Hour Home Care plans to lay off 738 employees, according to a California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect on Sept. 15, according to the filing. 24 Hour Home Care said the layoffs were the result of Health Net's planned discontinuation of Personal Care and Homemaker Services (PCHS), an optional Community Support under the insurer's Medi-Cal managed care plans, effective Jan. 1, 2027. Health Net is a California health insurer and managed-care organization. "We are disappointed by Health Net's decision and recognize the uncertainty it creates for affected members, caregivers and their families," 24 Hour Home Care told Home Health Care News in an email. "We are working with Health Net, [the Department of Health Care Services] (DHCS) and other stakeholders throughout this transition to mitigate impacts and support continuity of care." El Segundo, California-based 24 Hour Home Care provides services to people with disabilities, Medi-Cal members who qualify for Community Supports and veterans who need assistance with daily living and personal care. Health Net confirmed to HHCN that it planned to sunset optional Assisted Living Facility Transitions and Personal Care and Homemaker Services, effective Jan. 1, 2027. The company also said that it will extend contracts with providers of both Community Supports through Dec. 31, 2026, citing changing market conditions and discussions with DHCS. "We will continue working closely with members, providers and care management teams throughout the transition," Health Net told HHCN. TEAM Services Group acquired 24 Hour Home Care in 2021. San Diego-based TEAM provides agency-based home care, household employment services, including payroll and HR solutions and financial management services for consumer-directed care. The company operates in all 50 states and employs 100,000 caregivers and household staff. The layoffs come about five months after General Atlantic acquired TEAM Services Group from Alpine Investors in a deal reported at $3 billion, including debt. New York City-based growth and private equity firm General Atlantic manages $130 billion in assets. Its portfolio includes health care, technology, financial services and life sciences companies. 24 Hour Home Care WARN Act investigation.

24 Hour Home Care WARN Act investigation. Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading class action law firm, is investigating 24Hr Homecare, LLC ("24 Hour Home Care") regarding its recent potential mass layoff in El Segundo, California. The WARN Act is a federal law that requires certain employers to notify their employees, in writing, at least 60 days before a plant closing or mass layoff takes effect. As a result, we believe 24 Hour Home Care employees may be entitled to 60 days of severance pay and benefits. WHAT HAPPENED? On August 31, 2026, 24 Hour Home Care notified the California Employment Development Department of its decision to conduct a mass layoff at its facility in El Segundo, California. The federal law, known as the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, requires covered employers to provide 60 days' prior written notice to employees, their representatives, and certain government parties in the event of a mass layoff or plant closing. We are investigating whether 24 Hour Home Care failed to provide at least 60 days' notice before laying off 738 employees and, therefore, violated the WARN Act. ABOUT THE WARN ACT: The WARN Act is a federal law passed in 1988 by Congress that requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide a 60-day notice of significant layoffs or plant closings. This notice gives workers and their families time to prepare for job loss, seek new employment, and pursue training or retraining opportunities. The WARN Act aims to reduce the impact of sudden job loss on workers and communities by ensuring they have sufficient time to transition. Generally, employees must receive a WARN Act notice if they are laid off or if their hours are cut by 50% or more in any six-month period because of a plant closing or mass layoff. It is possible that a temporary layoff may still violate the WARN Act if it ends up lasting longer than six months. Employers who do not follow the WARN Act rules, either by giving notice too late or providing unclear notices, may have to pay employees back pay and benefits for the time they were in violation. If you were laid off from 24Hr Homecare, LLC ("24 Hour Home Care") in El Segundo, California and did not receive 60 days' notice or severance, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--24 Hour Home Care, an award-winning, non-medical, home care provider today announced its President of Community Supports, Simon Close, will serve on the National Aging in Place Council® (NAIPC) Board of Directors.
