About the company

Absolute provides a cybersecurity platform called Absolute Cyber Resilience that protects organizations across devices and applications with a subscription model. Its product works by leveraging Absolute Persistence, a patented technology embedded in device firmware, to create a secure, always-on link between the endpoint and the platform, while the software continuously monitors, secures, and self-heals mission-critical apps and handles risk response. The company differentiates itself through firmware-embedded persistence, which keeps devices connected and protected even if software is attacked or compromised, supporting remote workforces. Its goal is to enable secure and reliable digital operations from anywhere by strengthening IT controls, preventing disruption, and extending protection across endpoints and apps.

What believers are saying

  • July 2026 Pax8 launch opens MSP distribution to SMB buyers worldwide.
  • May 2026 GovRAMP authorization unlocks SLED procurement and public-sector expansion.
  • September 2026 Fal.Con demos and the $19 million hourly downtime pitch sharpen urgency.

What critics are saying

  • CrowdStrike, Lenovo, and OEM partners control distribution; partner churn would cripple growth.
  • Absolute’s private ownership blocks public reporting, obscuring churn, margins, and cash burn.
  • Microsoft Defender and platform bundling can erase standalone endpoint-resilience demand by 2027.

What makes Absolute unique

  • Absolute’s firmware-embedded Persistence survives reimages, OS crashes, and remote tampering across devices.
  • Lenovo ThinkShield TraceLock and CrowdStrike integrations extend control below the operating system.
  • Crosspoint-owned Absolute sells resilience, not detection, pairing recovery with compliance enforcement.

Absolute Security acquires FirmGuard to strengthen firmware security and Cyber Resilience.

Absolute Security acquires FirmGuard to strengthen firmware security and Cyber Resilience. Absolute Security, a leader in Autonomous Cyber Resilience, announced it has acquired Phoenix Technologies' FirmGuard, a UEFI BIOS firmware security, management, and networking service. FirmGuard extends Absolute Persistence(R), the patented firmware-embedded technology behind the Autonomous Cyber Resilience Platform. It adds deeper visibility, integrity verification, posture management, continuous patching, and compliance enforcement for endpoints, AI workstations, and autonomous agents. Together, the integration will provide the firmware foundation AI-driven enterprises need to defend against threats, reduce risk, prevent agents from going rogue, and minimize disruption. Research shows that firmware and hardware attacks are rising,i and 80 percent of IT and security decision makers say AI will accelerate exploitation.ii Yet 60 percent delay firmware updates, and more than half report firmware FOMU (Fear of Making Updates).iii Because firmware boots before the OS, it is essential for management and recovery, and a prime target for attackers, who can use it to evade security tools and persist undetected. These factors make firmware security a strategic imperative for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs). Enterprise CISOs can quickly activate Absolute across endpoint fleets and advanced AI workstations. Through exclusive partnerships with top OEMs Dell, HP, and Lenovo, Absolute is embedded in the firmware of 600 million endpoint devices. This gives customers an unbreakable connection to the firmware to manage and secure devices and applications and restore them to an operational state at boot, even when the OS is corrupted or crashing. Absolute's AI focus has also led to trusted collaborations with NVIDIA and HP, extending these capabilities to advanced AI workstations and autonomous agents. Absolute will integrate FirmGuard's deep firmware and UEFI capabilities to deliver a consolidated, best-in-class solution for integrity, security, resilience, and full device control, from the moment devices power on. In the first phase, customers can expect: broader below-the-OS management, continuous firmware integrity and patching, expanded data-wipe options, and one firmware-to-cloud console. Christy Wyatt, President & CEO, Absolute Security AI-driven threats and fragility are disrupting enterprises from the cloud to the endpoint. Full resilience requires visibility, control, security, and recovery capabilities in the device hardware - a unique and exclusive location only Absolute occupies. For more than 30 years, we have led the market in helping customers withstand cyberattacks and IT failures and recover from operational breakdowns. Our strengthened platform will help security and risk leaders confidently accelerate and protect AI initiatives against threats, complexity, and downtime. Gerard Moore, President & CEO, FirmGuard We built FirmGuard to make firmware protection simple and secure. Absolute has proven its firmware-embedded platform can do this at enterprise scale. With FirmGuard integrated into Absolute, customers can remain confident their AI devices will stay secure, compliant, and running, so when something goes wrong, downtime will not become a business loss. In a new 1,000 enterprise CISO survey, 75% reported that their organizations experienced operational downtime after cyberattacks and incidents, with 98% revealing that an endpoint security control failed - citing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) as the tool that failed most frequently (22%).[(1)] Absolute Security is focused on not only helping customers to keep their most critical security and IT controls operational but to also accelerate recovery from outages before they spiral into damaging losses. During the event, CrowdStrike customers that visit Absolute Security have an opportunity to receive 100 licenses through a no-cost 12-month trial. The Absolute Resilience license bundle delivers: * Resilient Endpoint Security Controls: Eliminate gaps in security and compliance by ensuring your CrowdStrike Falcon and other critical security controls remain installed, tamper resistant, and fully operational. * Real-Time Device Visibility and Control: Monitor and enforce endpoint and application health across your entire fleet with a single view of all devices and software, giving your security and IT teams the ability to spot risk and compliance gaps before they turn into incidents or audit findings. * Automated Geofencing: Defend against breaches and compliance violations with the ability to remotely freeze and wipe devices automatically when they leave approved geographic zones. * Autonomous Recovery: Automate application and endpoint device repair without tickets, technicians, or reimaging cycles - cutting recovery time from days to minutes while freeing IT and security teams to focus on higher value work instead of manual repair. There is no purchase required and no obligation to buy licenses at the end of the term. Standard list pricing applies only if organizations choose to continue after the 12-month trial ends. The offer is open to CrowdStrike customers and is valid September 1, 2026 through March 1, 2027.
