Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic vision, financial leadership, and operational stewardship for the Rollins School of Public Health.
  • Oversee school-level financial services, human resources, fulfillment services, information technology, and research administration, and serve as the official responsible for unit business decisions.
  • Manage a budget of $220 million and an organization of approximately 400 staff, 200 faculty, and 1,200 students.
  • Serve on the school's executive committee as a senior leader in policy, decision-making, strategic-plan alignment, and the school's education, research, and practice mission.
  • Advise on financial trends, risks, opportunities, and their impact on decisions.
  • Lead annual and long-range financial planning and management.
  • Advise the Dean on finance, budget planning, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with department chairs to support strategic initiatives and funding needs.
  • Develop financial models and coordinate with Student Services on enrollment, tuition, scholarship impacts, new programs, and degrees.
  • Provide financial and variance reports.
  • Serve as campus liaison for finance and business operations.
  • Lead the development of financial dashboards, reports, and budget presentations.
  • Ensure efficiency and compliance in human resources, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, retention, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, federal and state laws, and regulations.
  • Implement and evaluate annual merit increases.
  • Partner with department chairs and unit directors on equity and retention concerns and develop action plans, including competitive equity analysis using market data.
  • Collaborate with central Human Resources and manage employee-relations recommendations and concerns.
  • Oversee facilities management for all Rollins School of Public Health buildings, including maintenance, day-to-day operations, renovation projects, and master planning.
  • Collaborate with Campus Services on building operations and the development and management of capital projects.
  • Allocate and assign space to departments and review utilization.
  • Sponsor and serve on the space committee.
  • Oversee information technology services, evaluate future needs, and ensure information technology meets the school's needs.
  • Prioritize information technology requests and align them with the revenue-generating components of the school's strategic plan and goals.
  • Oversee school-level research administration functions and ensure appropriate resourcing for research-administration continuity.
  • Coordinate with the central Office of Research Administration on fiscal, regulatory, and contractual compliance.
  • Complete school-level reviews for proposals and document and review faculty effort plans.
  • Plan and solve problems for departments and centers submitting large grants.
  • Meet weekly with all direct reports and host a quarterly directors meeting.
  • Sponsor the staff council.
  • Oversee and coordinate the school's staff development series.
