Requirements
  • A DEC diploma in nursing sciences and a valid professional practice permit are required.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital or medical setting is strongly desired.
  • Valid CPR certification is required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of patient care is required.
Responsibilities
  • Complete clinical assessments of patients of all ages, often to enable a physician to make a diagnosis remotely.
  • Provide primary care and interventions according to therapeutic guidelines and collective prescriptions.
  • Manage 24/7 emergencies and provide triage and urgent pediatric, obstetric, adult, and geriatric care.
  • Promote health and participate in community programs, including vaccination, prenatal and infant follow-up, school health, sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection services, and tuberculosis services.
  • Sometimes travel to see patients in isolated territories.
  • Perform related CLSC administrative tasks, including local training and on-call management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of pediatric care and experience caring for older adults or people with dementia are considered assets.
