Requirements
  • Five years of experience in a refinery or related field.
  • Knowledge of the working theory of industrial process equipment and associated physical processes.
  • Skill in using process meters, HART communicators, computers and companion software, combustion analyzers, torque screwdrivers, tubing tools, calibration and test equipment, and other relevant tools.
  • Basic knowledge of networks and industrial communications protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to verify that equipment is de-energized and in a safe working condition.
  • Ability to safely work in mixed-voltage enclosures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Skill in organization, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences in speech and writing.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work in unfamiliar situations.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, specify, install, commission, calibrate, verify, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, switches, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, controllers, and control valves.
  • Optimize the performance of instrumentation and control devices associated with boilers, heaters, thermal oxidizers, scrubbers, distillation columns, pumping systems, tanks, environmental monitoring equipment, and other equipment.
  • Maintain distributed control systems.
  • Read, draft, update, and maintain electrical and electronic drawings, P&IDs, standard operating procedures, calibration reports, computerized maintenance management system records, manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Collaborate with operations, environmental compliance, safety, and other maintenance personnel.
  • Adhere to company and agency safety rules and regulations.
  • Occasionally respond to emergency call-ins.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
