Non-profit hub for open-source silicon
lowRISC CIC is a not-for-profit center for open-source silicon hardware. It coordinates the Silicon Commons, a collaborative funding model where partners contribute multi-year support and engineering work to share pre-competitive IP development costs. Its flagship project, OpenTitan, provides an open-source Root of Trust, with production-quality IP like Ibex and open software-hardware IP blocks available under permissive licences. Its goal is to deliver trusted, transparent silicon foundations and speed the adoption of open-source hardware through shared investment and collaboration.
