About the company

AlivaMab Biologics is a contract research organization that helps pharmaceutical and biotech companies discover and engineer antibody-based therapeutics. It uses its proprietary AlivaMab Mouse transgenic strains to rapidly generate fully human antibodies, with platforms for target validation, protein and cell-based engineering, functional assays, epitope and kinetic characterization, and developability assessments. It differentiates itself through an independent, fee-for-service model with flexible engagement and no royalties or milestone obligations, backed by its established transgenic mouse technology and modular discovery platform. Its goal is to help partners move quickly from target to lead antibodies by providing comprehensive, modular discovery services and deep analytical capabilities.

What believers are saying

  • Boulevard Bio launched BLVD101 in August 2026 using AlivaMab-derived antibodies.
  • AlivaMab expanded into single-domain and multispecific discovery, widening addressable programs.
  • The 2023 San Diego facility move supports higher-throughput discovery work and client growth.

What critics are saying

  • No active AlivaMab-owned clinical pipeline means revenue depends entirely on partner demand.
  • A 2026 career listing showed zero open positions, signaling stalled hiring.
  • If licensees switch platforms, AlivaMab becomes a commoditized service shop by 2027.

What makes AlivaMab Biologics unique

  • AlivaMab Mouse enabled 33 clinical programs by March 2026.
  • September 2025 fee-for-service access stayed license-, milestone-, and royalty-free for partners.
  • CEO Larry Green built Abgenix and Ablexis, signaling deep antibody-platform credibility.

Boulevard Bio launches with BLVD101 bispecific antibody in phase 1 trial for autoimmune diseases

AlivaMab Biologics and Ablexis have congratulated Boulevard Bio on its launch and ongoing Phase 1 clinical trial of BLVD101, a dual neutralising bispecific antibody for treating autoimmune diseases. The fully human antibody was discovered and engineered at AlivaMab Biologics. Working with Deerfield Discovery and Development, AlivaMab progressed from concept to delivery of dual-antagonist bispecific antibody leads. Using Ablexis' AlivaMab Mouse platform and AlivaMab's function-first screening methodology, the company identified highly potent antagonist antibodies against both targets in just 12 weeks from the start of immunisations. AlivaMab Biologics is a specialist partner offering fully integrated and modular antibody drug discovery and engineering services.
