Requirements
- A New York State Nurse Practitioner license is required.
- Board certification in Neurology or experience in neurology is preferred.
- A minimum of 1–2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience is required.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently are required.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide neurological evaluations and follow-up care for nursing home residents.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, neuropathy, and other neurological disorders.
- Collaborate with nursing home staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans.
- Document all patient encounters and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on neurological conditions and treatments.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in geriatrics or neurology is a plus.
- Experience in long-term care or nursing home settings is preferred.
