About the company

Phlair uses a patented liquid sorbent system to capture CO2 from the air in a capture module. The captured CO2 is either permanently stored or turned into carbon-neutral or carbon-negative products. It partners with hard-to-decarbonize industries—such as heavy manufacturing and energy generation—selling the technology, offering long-term services, or pursuing joint ventures that leverage carbon credits. Its goal is to reduce atmospheric CO2 and help industries reach net-zero by providing scalable, practical decarbonization and carbon-credit monetization.

What believers are saying

  • Deep Sky partnered with Phlair in Canada, expanding deployment beyond Germany and Rotterdam.
  • Shopify, Stripe, and Klarna bought Electra credits, validating demand in 2026.
  • EIC CAPTURE funding ends October 2026, forcing a new raise around Project Dawn.

What critics are saying

  • Project Dawn slipped from 2026 to 2027-2030, signaling scale-up execution risk.
  • Frontier contracted 47,000 tonnes in 2025; any demo failure damages revenue and credibility.
  • Heavy capex and thin funding reserve threaten insolvency before commercial scale arrives.

What makes Phlair unique

  • Phlair’s electrochemical hydrolyzer DAC targets below €75 per tonne at megatonne scale.
  • Rotterdam’s Electra became one of Europe’s first operational verified DAC credit plants in 2026.
  • Phlair pairs capture with Paebbl mineralization, turning CO2 into permanent construction-material feedstock.
