Requirements
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of Information Assurance Technical Level II certification in accordance with Department of Defense Manual 8570.01 is required.
  • U.S. citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • The candidate must comply with government vaccination requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Support coordination of system Certification and Accreditation in accordance with the Risk Management Framework and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidance, including initial certification and accreditation, Federal Information Security Management Act, and re-accreditation requirements.
  • Support coordination and assurance of system Assessment and Authorization in accordance with Department of Defense cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization Risk Management Framework processes and applicable Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and Army guidance.
  • Provide Information Security engineering support to integrate required security characteristics and requirements into system performance objectives and support security certifications, test and evaluation events, and vulnerability protection.
  • Prepare and generate security Assessment and Authorization documentation and coordinate with the Authorizing Official to obtain system accreditation, including Security Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, Configuration Management Plans, and Plans of Action and Milestones.
  • Provide Information Assurance Vulnerability Management support, including dissemination, installation, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert reporting, and compliance procedures.
  • Perform activities specified in Army Regulation 25-2 for program managers, Information System Security Managers, and Information System Security Officers, and act as a liaison with system administrators and cybersecurity personnel.
  • Provide configuration management support for information system software and hardware, maintain software licenses, and ensure security documentation is current and accessible to authorized individuals.
  • Ensure log files and audits are maintained and reviewed for all systems, and audit authentication policies for compliance.
  • Review and evaluate the security effects of system and network changes, including interfaces with other information systems, and document the changes.
  • Ensure the cybersecurity posture and accreditation boundaries are not impacted during information system support and maintenance.
  • Ensure that relevant security changes do not invalidate previously authorized accreditation.
  • Conduct self-assessments, document validation results, and generate Plans of Action and Milestones in the United States Army Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service database.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans, determine Security Technical Implementation Guide checklist compliance, review Department of Defense, Army, Risk Management Framework, and National Institute of Standards and Technology documentation, compile and analyze results, document results in the United States Army Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service database, and provide validation recommendations supporting Interim Authority to Test and Authority to Operate decisions.
