About the job

Requirements
  • At least 4 years of product management experience, including ownership of at least one product from definition through live use with real users.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare, demonstrated through software built for clinical, diagnostic, or patient-facing settings, or the ability to learn a regulated, high-stakes domain quickly.
  • Sound judgment about what software may claim, including the ability to explain and defend why parent-facing results include particular content while clinician-facing products show deeper insight.
  • Ability to bring clinical, scientific, or regulatory questions to the appropriate experts, ask precise questions, and convert answers into product decisions.
  • Comfort making product tradeoffs, including deciding not to ship a proposed release in its original form.
Responsibilities
  • Own what the products do, what they are allowed to claim, how clinical insights earn clinicians’ attention, and how families move from an initial concern to a next step.
  • Shape Face2Gene’s clinician decision-support layer, including how cases are prioritized for review, referral, testing, follow-up, or reassurance and how prioritized genes, syndrome considerations, and phenotype findings are presented for clinician review.
  • Make report inputs inspectable by showing which photo-analysis-AI-supported phenotype signals, symptoms, and developmental observations drove a finding, with source tags clinicians can inspect.
  • Develop clinical, evidence-aware language for parent-originated summaries shown to clinicians.
  • Develop a pediatrician workflow that fits a short visit and does not require the clinician to be a geneticist.
  • Shape Family Health Checker’s parent-facing result language so it is educational, useful without being alarming, and explicitly not a diagnosis.
  • Develop photo guidance, consent moments, and user guidance for points in the family workflow where users may be anxious.
  • Create escalation messaging that clearly tells families what actions to take next.
  • Help develop next-generation visual-AI results, symptoms, and health-history assessment features.
  • Turn family-entered information into a package clinicians can work from, and improve sharing and open rates between Family Health Checker and Face2Gene.
  • Make Family Health Checker straightforward for health systems to send before visits, embed in a portal, deploy by QR code in a waiting room, and white-label.
  • Work with engineering and health systems on integration choices, including PDF and structured export, FHIR document exchange, single sign-on, and the Epic pathway.
  • Plan non-code deployment factors, including invitation ownership, responsibility for acting on outputs, security and privacy review needs, and measurable Phase 1 scope that does not disrupt a stretched team.
  • Configure next steps across pediatrics, developmental pediatrics, genetics, telehealth, testing, and follow-up, including referral packets, draft letters of medical necessity, ICD-10 support, and requisition readiness for clinician review and editing.
  • Address integrations and buyer logic for laboratory ordering, distinct from health-system buyer logic.
  • Represent the product in clinical and regulatory review, user-experience and usability testing, and AI model performance gates.
  • Define the evidence required for a product claim and work with the AI and validation lead to determine what must be measured before making claims.
  • Own the metric tree from intake completion through clinician action to outcome capture, the instrumentation behind it, and dashboards health systems can use independently.
  • Monitor model alignment, escalation-routing behavior, and user experience for changes that could reduce usefulness, friendliness, or compliance.
  • Engage clinical advisory groups and design partners and translate their feedback into concrete product decisions.
  • Study workflows used by general and developmental pediatricians and geneticists, map the pathway from parent concern to next-step action, audit parent-facing and clinician-facing screens, prioritize potential gaps, and identify where the pathway breaks.
  • Deliver a product improvement with the product and engineering team, establish a Phase 1 deployment with named metrics and an accountable owner, and participate in a defined, documented clinical review process.
  • Help ensure clinicians can understand a product’s purpose, limitations, and next steps quickly; establish a predictable documented path for new health systems to go live; and enforce evidence standards for clinical claims while maintaining a smooth user experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with FHIR and HL7 v2, experience working with major EHRs such as Epic, Oracle Health, or athenahealth in production, and an Epic implementation background.
  • Understanding of health-system rollout stakeholders, security reviews, training burdens, and operational readiness, with a track record of planning for them.
  • Understanding of AI calibration, rationale transparency, and evaluation of success or failure when required data is present or missing from training sets.
  • Experience in regulated software quality systems, including design controls, intended use, risk management, human factors, change control, and post-market surveillance; familiarity with FDA thinking on clinical decision-support software and predetermined change-control plans.
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn HPO terms, phenotype-driven test selection, letters of medical necessity, and payer documentation; exposure to genetics, pediatrics, developmental pediatrics, diagnostics, or lab ordering.
  • Ability to design workflows to a time budget by evaluating clinic time costs and who carries the operational cost.
  • Experience owning a metric tree and event taxonomy from definition through instrumentation and evaluating impact through pathway change rather than features shipped.
  • Track record of running design-partner or clinical-advisory groups and translating insights directly into product changes.
  • Clinical background; it is welcome but not required.
