Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a Florida State Jessica Lunsford Act Badge.
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial building construction related to structured cabling, security, access control, closed-circuit television, audio-visual, paging, nurse call, or sound masking.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with outside-plant copper and fiber installation.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Own hand tools.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in high places and confined places.
  • Ability to work varying project hours, including possible weekend shifts.
  • Regular attendance following an established work schedule.
  • Ability to work any required shift or designated hours, including possible night and weekend work.
  • Ability to work during inclement weather or other conditions when required.
  • Ability to operate in noisy environments and temperatures outside standard office conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise low-voltage projects from beginning to end.
  • Supervise the installation of security, network, audio-visual, and low-voltage cabling.
  • Oversee the termination, testing, and labeling of end-user devices.
  • Ensure the use of industry-standard and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Direct the installation of card readers, cameras, speakers, displays, touch panels, projectors, and screens.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable authority-having-jurisdiction codes and industry standards.
  • Ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain communication with project managers to ensure work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
  • Ensure proper safety practices are followed and maintained.
  • Perform work in interior finished spaces and new construction sites as assigned.
  • Operate field equipment, including hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial or motorized lifts, and test equipment.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely and responsibly when required.
