  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors through technical analysis, proofs of concept, and return-on-investment assessments.
  • Identify practical opportunities to apply AI and machine learning to improve search relevance and checkout experience.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers while promoting clear thinking, simplicity, and strong engineering practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with checkout, booking, or related travel and ecommerce journeys.

About the Company

Priceline

Online travel agency offering discount deals

Priceline is an online travel marketplace that connects travelers with airlines, hotels, rental car companies, cruises, and vacation packages. It works through two models: an agency model that earns commissions on bookings and a merchant model that buys travel services at wholesale and resells them at a markup; it also offers fixed-price listings, discount options like Express Deals, and historically a Name Your Own Price bidding system, plus features such as free cancellations and pay-at-arrival via a mobile app. Priceline differentiates itself by offering a wide mix of travel products and pricing options under Booking Holdings, generating revenue from commissions, fees, markups, advertising, and referrals. Its goal is to give budget-conscious travelers easy access to a large variety of travel options while shifting negotiating power toward consumers through transparent pricing options and valuable deals.
