Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Aggregator(s) electrical hardware design.
  • Work closely with other teams, such as software engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical hardware designs into the overall product.
  • Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.
  • Lead new IC design/development strategic to advanced in-vehicle architectures
  • Lead electrical schematic design and PCB layout
  • Assess the feasibility of proposed electrical hardware designs, considering factors such as cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Support next generation designs in digital/analog hardware including Gig+ ethernet, processors, memory, eFuse, FET, HSD/LSD, various semi associated with Aggregators
  • Perform/Review electrical worst case analysis
  • Represent the GM HW team as design expert in the core technologies developed among the team
  • Optimize five-point parametric tests and finalize end of line production tests
  • Lead the process as a build-to-print engineer that also acts as a liaison with the contract house
  • Apply cost effective solutions with improved performance design
  • Lead product development as part of a multi hub engineering organizations based in Detroit and West Coast
  • Refine/optimize requirements with MPG team
  • Maintain Aggregator Hardware Design deliverables e.g., Block Diagram, Schematics, PCB layout, …
  • Lead Peer Reviews and identify issues (e.g. integration, interfaces, systemic issues)
  • Support Engineering Change Request (ECR) of Aggregators.

  • Participate in Formal Design, Peer and Quality Valve reviews as required by the Vehicle Development Process (VDP).
  • Develop/Review/Approve all In-process Electrical test plans.
  • Support vehicle integration activity for pre-production and production vehicles
  • Lead/participate in issue resolution for design and development issues, ECU warranty analysis, parts restriction and report updates as required to Engineering and Vehicle Team leadership
  • Lead/support DFMEA/PFMEA of Aggregator

GM to invest $690M into Propulsion Plant to produce next-generation V8 engines. 05/05/2026 at 12:18 PM The union representing hundreds of GM workers in St. Catharines says they have received the first good news since U.S. tariffs were imposed last year. General Motors will invest $690-million into the Propulsion Plant on Glendale Ave. to produce the next-generation V8 engines. Unifor Local 1-99 Plant Chair Trevor Longpre says this is great news for the community. Longpre also adds that as of now, it's not clear how many jobs will be created. GM analyst says automaker equipped to weather economic downturn unlike past cycles

General Motors has the financial toolkit to weather an economic slowdown, according to Citi analyst Michael Ward, who maintained a Buy rating and $105 price target on the stock. Ward highlighted GM's improved cost structure, strong balance sheet and reduced North American breakeven level as key advantages over past cyclical downturns. Despite these positives, GM shares have fallen 6% this year to $76.42 as the wider auto industry struggles. US light-vehicle deliveries dropped over 6% year-on-year in the first quarter, with March down nearly 12% due to tough comparisons against 2025's pre-tariff buying surge. GM led US auto sales in 2025 with 2.85 million vehicles sold and reported $12.7 billion in operating profits, driven primarily by strong full-size pickup and SUV sales.

Cadillac LYRIQ EV lawsuit reports major electrical problem making it "unreliable for daily use" Saajan Jogia Mon, April 13, 2026 at 2:51 AM PDT Two plaintiffs have filed a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington after suffering from electrical problems in their General Motors Cadillac LYRIQ electric SUVs, which have made the vehicles "unreliable for daily use." According to Carcomplaints.com, the lawsuit alleges a defect in the entire electrical system that prevents owners from starting or charging the vehicle, with everything from the software to the battery management and vehicle control networks deemed defective. The report further states that these defects "cause communication failures between control modules that will disable the LYRIQ." Certain details in the lawsuit are missing, such as the model year or trims of the affected LYRIQ models, whether they are leased or owned, and if any repairs were performed on them. Read more from motorbiscuit: The lawsuit has been filed by Florida plaintiff Charlene Riddle and Washington plaintiff Wendy J. Cochran. Riddle alleges that the electrical system failures on her LYRIQ have made it "unreliable for daily use." When she approached the dealership, GM reportedly told her that the vehicle's software needed addressing, but a fix was not available. The issue has prevented her from using the LYRIQ every day. She also alleges that her vehicle's value has diminished due to the electrical issue. The lawsuit further states that Riddle had to incur "out-of-pocket costs and overpayment for a defective vehicle." The other plaintiff, Cochran, faced similar issues with her LYRIQ, describing it as a "catastrophic electrical system failure." She alleges that the issues caused her to incur "out-of-pocket costs" and claims that she overpaid "for a defective vehicle." Additionally, she was unable to use her LYRIQ regularly due to the problem, which has diminished the value of the SUV. The lawsuit alleges that GM knew about the electrical problem on the LYRIQ before the vehicle was sold, but continued to market the model. The problem has significantly impacted the vehicle's value, making it "worth substantially less. The manufacturer claimed in its advertisements that the LYRIQ was safe and reliable, but according to the lawsuit, the SUV is "unreliable and unsafe."

Olivia Richman Sun, April 12, 2026 at 8:30 AM PDT If you grew up watching a boxy, mud-caked GMC Jimmy crawl through rough terrain on a Saturday afternoon, Incited has some genuinely good news for you. According to a report from GM Authority, GMC is actively working to revive the Jimmy name on a brand-new, body-on-frame SUV built with off-road DNA from the ground up. Yes, a real one. Not a crossover wearing a costume. The timing is interesting, to say the least. General Motors has been on a bit of a nostalgia trip lately, with recent reports suggesting Chevrolet is eyeing a Camaro comeback by late 2027, alongside new sedans from Buick and Cadillac riding that same platform. Now GMC appears ready to join the party, and the Jimmy might just be the most anticipated revival of the bunch. What makes this report stand out from your average automotive rumor? The details. GM Authority says the new Jimmy will be built on the same platform that underpins the GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado mid-size pickups, positioning it squarely in the heart of the rough-and-ready SUV segment. Size-wise, it would slot between the Terrain and the larger Acadia, giving GMC a proper off-road slot it has long been missing. And then there is the part that will really get enthusiasts talking: GMC is reportedly considering offering a V-8 engine. In 2026. For a mid-size truck-based SUV. Yes, really. What Incited know about the new Jimmy so far. The Jimmy would most likely ride on the same mid-size truck platform shared by the Canyon and Colorado, which already underpins some solid off-road hardware. The base powertrain would almost certainly be the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine currently found across GMC and Chevy's pickup lineup, where it puts out a very respectable 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. That is a strong starting point for any off-road SUV, and it is already proven in demanding conditions. Beyond the standard engine, though, GM Authority's report notes that GMC is weighing the possibility of an optional V-8. General Motors recently invested $888 million into its engine facility in Buffalo, New York, to produce a next-generation small-block V-8 designed specifically for trucks and SUVs. That same engine architecture has already branched into a high-performance 6.7-liter variant for the 2027 Corvette Stingray and Grand Sport, so the hardware is clearly in development and finding its way into new vehicles fast. Why the Jimmy name carries so much weight. The original GMC Jimmy debuted as a large, body-on-frame SUV in the early 1970s, essentially serving as the GMC twin to the Chevrolet Blazer. Both nameplates eventually transitioned to smaller, two- and four-door body-on-frame designs that stayed in production until 2005. For a generation of truck enthusiasts, the Jimmy was the gateway drug to serious off-roading, a purpose-built rig that did not apologize for what it was. That legacy is exactly why so many fans were burned when Chevy brought back the Blazer name in 2019 on a front-wheel-drive-optional unibody crossover. It looked nothing like the original and drove even less like one. The backlash was swift and has not entirely faded. GMC fans have been vocal about wanting the Jimmy back, but only if it actually means something, and by all accounts, this version is being developed with that feedback in mind. The competitive landscape is fierce, and that is a good thing. The segment the Jimmy would enter is arguably the most exciting in the entire auto industry right now. The Toyota 4Runner continues to sell incredibly well on the strength of its loyal fanbase and its reputation for long-term reliability. The Ford Bronco has reignited serious enthusiasm for the segment since its return in 2021, and the Jeep Wrangler remains the benchmark by which all off-road SUVs are measured. A body-on-frame GMC with a solid off-road platform, available V-8 power, and the backing of GM's substantial engineering resources would be a legitimate contender in this fight. The Canyon AT4X has already shown that GM knows how to build a capable mid-size off-roader, so scaling that knowledge to an SUV body style seems like a natural next step. Why now is the right moment for a Jimmy revival. A few years ago, this project reportedly stalled out. Tightening federal fuel economy regulations made a body-on-frame V-8 SUV a complicated business case, and GM was funneling resources toward electric vehicles and its now-shuttered Cruise autonomous vehicle division. Those priorities have since shifted considerably. GM has recommitted to internal combustion engine development, Cruise has been wound down, and regulatory changes under the current administration have rolled back some of the stricter fuel economy mandates that made a project like this financially tricky. The stars are aligning in a way they simply were not a few years ago. While an official announcement from GMC has not been made and specific launch timelines remain unclear, the conditions for a Jimmy revival have arguably never been better. Truck fans, it might finally be time to get excited.
