Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a guest-facing role in a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel environment.
  • A university degree, preferably in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of Opera Property Management System.
  • Butler certification or equivalent professional training.
  • Knowledge of Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, or Guest Relations.
  • Guest journey ownership, empathy and anticipation, emotional intelligence, personalisation, cultural sensitivity, service recovery, attention to detail, multitasking, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness and multicultural fluency across international guest profiles.
  • A neat, polished appearance, articulate communication, good posture, and a warm, composed presence.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all Butler Service standard operating procedures.
  • Remain current on Raffles Brand Standards, LQA criteria, Forbes Travel Guide standards, and global five-star butler-service expectations.
  • Maintain working proficiency across platforms used to capture, action, and track the guest journey.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of room categories, suite configurations, food and beverage offerings, in-house experiences, and property-wide facilities.
  • Stay informed about arriving guests, including profiles, histories, preferences, special occasions, and intelligence gathered across touchpoints.
  • Remain informed about local culture, seasonal events, and the area’s social landscape to serve as a credible resource for guests.
  • Embody the Raffles brand personality in every interaction.
  • Execute the Top 5 Service Excellence pillars—Look, Smile, Talk, Listen, and Thank—in every guest encounter.
  • Orchestrate the guest journey and ensure every department contributes at the appropriate time.
  • Own the guest relationship from pre-arrival through post-departure.
  • Initiate meaningful pre-arrival contact, review guest profiles, anticipate needs, and personalise the arrival experience.
  • Conduct in-room check-ins and room orientations according to each guest’s preferred level of engagement.
  • Correspond with guests through written, digital, and verbal channels in the Raffles tone.
  • Anticipate guest needs before they are expressed.
  • Remain proactively present and responsive throughout the guest’s stay.
  • Manage guest requests with personal accountability, coordinating across departments, tracking completion, and following up.
  • Handle complaints and service failures by acknowledging concerns, recovering the service, and following through until trust is restored.
  • Inspect arrival and occupied rooms from a butler’s perspective.
  • Execute Raffles Rituals and special-occasion setups with precision and care.
  • Provide discreet and attentive packing and unpacking services.
  • Monitor Do Not Disturb and Out of Order rooms and act immediately on welfare concerns in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate butler notes recording preferences, observations, and interactions.
  • Recommend experiences, dining, and services through knowledgeable, genuine upselling.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Private Dining, Front Office, Engineering, Concierge, and other relevant departments.
  • Attend shift briefings, department meetings, and training sessions.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to the team’s culture through reliability and discretion.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and respected.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of languages other than English.
  • Familiarity with Forbes Travel Guide or LQA standards.
  • A university degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Butler certification or equivalent professional training.
