Requirements
  • Strong basic knowledge of pouring, leveling, forming, troweling, troweling machines for finishing, and concrete.
  • Learn and understand safety hazards related to the work and safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds, with occasional loads up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of the hands, arms, and legs, with adequate hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to hear, comprehend, and speak to safely perform work.
  • Ability to perform sedentary to heavy work, climb and maintain balance on frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and work in varied physical positions and terrain.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, including electric, gas, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Reading and writing comprehension sufficient to give and receive directions and follow safety policies.
  • Ability to use mathematics and complete calculations, make decisions, concentrate amid distractions, and observe and remember details.
Responsibilities
  • Place, finish, protect, and repair concrete for projects.
  • Place and spread concrete using various tools and level or float the surface.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation.
  • Understand and apply the purpose and proper technique for vibrating concrete.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
