About the job
- A post-secondary education with a concentration in finance, accounting, or related fields.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is an asset.
- A basic understanding of the fund administration industry.
- A strong understanding of global payment processes and familiarity with payment systems and online banking platforms.
- Be responsible for the accurate input, approval, and processing of payments in accordance with established procedures.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and errors promptly and accurately.
- Liaise with clients, investment managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of client payments.
- Work with internal teams, such as Treasury, Banking Operations, and Client Operations, to ensure that all deliverables are met.
- Ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
- Analyse payment and query data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the escalation point for the team.
- Deputize for the Manager when required, ensuring that work is fairly allocated across the team.
- Ensure critical issues are escalated in a timely manner to senior stakeholders.
- Represent the local team on global projects and lead project workstreams.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and security of payment processes.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Ensure that procedures are up to date and in line with firm standards.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory updates as they pertain to payments.
- Analyse opportunities for improvement within the overall payment process.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of new systems and processes related to payments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to product development initiatives that optimize payment processing and client experience.
- Assist with other ad hoc tasks, such as audit requests, as required.
- Knowledge of SWIFT payment processing, including payment formatting and field definitions.
- Experience implementing process improvements.
