About the company

GoHealth Urgent Care builds a network of urgent care centers through joint venture partnerships with established health systems to provide on-demand, walk-in medical care. It combines physical clinics with a digital front door, offering omnichannel access via virtual visits, online check-in, and real-time wait times, along with on-site services such as X-rays, labs, vaccinations, and physicals. The platform uses data analytics and AI to optimize location strategy and operations while delivering a seamless patient journey akin to ordering a ride. What sets GoHealth apart is its integration with health system partners, leveraging their clinical expertise and community presence to extend reach, improve access, and reduce costs. Its goal is to lower costs, enhance access to quality care, and improve patient experience by acting as the accessible entry point to the broader healthcare ecosystem for the communities it serves.

What believers are saying

  • UPMC-GoHealth opened 81 centers in August 2025, adding immediate scale across Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
  • Community-GoHealth doubled from six to 12 centers by May 2026, showing rapid rollout.
  • GoHealth said it would open its 300th center in 2024, evidencing durable growth momentum.

What critics are saying

  • Mercy-GoHealth faces 2025 FLSA lawsuits, signaling wage-and-hour exposure across operations.
  • Partnership dependence is dangerous; one major health-system defection would shrink centers and referrals fast.
  • Integration complexity across 400 co-branded centers can erode service quality and delay launches.

What makes GoHealth Urgent Care unique

  • GoHealth embeds as health-system partner, not standalone urgent care, locking referrals and branding.
  • In 2025, UPMC launched 81 GoHealth centers, proving repeatable partnership conversion.
  • Community Health Network chose GoHealth in July 2025, validating its expansion playbook.
