Senior Product Engineering Manager–NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Provide engineering expertise to organization for current and future footwear (FW) builds leveraging documented Engineering best practices, quality standards and manufacturing expertise to influence and guide new model creation; set expert direction for NIKE Footwear in the in-house Footwear Lab; lead and drive performance, quality & craftsmanship excellence; collaborate with Innovation, FW category teams, manufacturing teams and overseas contract manufacturing partners to bring those new footwear concepts to life; identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues; trouble-shoot issues in development, production and/or as raised by wear testing, design, etc.; lead and manage engineers to collaborate with teams to identify and alleviate potential product or process concerns and provide recommendations for patterning, materials, construction, shape, fit, performance, cost and manufacturability; respond to requests from internal/external team as well as assist in providing input and technical solutions at the functional level; create and review Technical specification packages and production samples to ensure quality, manufacturability, and transferability to factory partners; lead engineering digital product creation strategy by implementing tools and driving category projects; define engineering functional strategy for team and facility: identify manufacturing infrastructure requirements, new manufacturing concepts/technologies/machinery; participate in sourcing discussions including providing technical assessment of factories; mentor and train teams on NIKE FW engineering best practices, product integrity, and fundamentals; lead high-profile cross category initiatives; and work across cultures and navigate an organization matrix with sensitivity to a variety of cultures. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fashion, Accessories Design, or Manufacturing and eight (8) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a designer-related occupation.
