Mechanical Engineer Intern @ Anduril

We are hiring for the Mechanical Engineering Department in Costa Mesa, CA. We are looking for highly motivated hands-on engineers who want to apply themselves to hard problems. Prior experience doing project teams or highly technical personal projects strongly desired.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision.
Perform analysis, design, build and/or test hardware as needed to successfully complete a project of significant scope in 12 weeks or less.
Present design reviews, travel to test sites and vendors as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Currently enrolled in a bachelors or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
Must be a rising senior at the time of their internship and returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies for at least one quarter/semester.
Demonstrated hands-on fabrication or laboratory skills.
High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles.
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
Ability to complete an in-person 12-week internship in Costa Mesa, CA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Collegiate project team or laboratory experience strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory.
Experience in NX/Teamcenter, Solidworks, FEA and/or CFD analysis tools.
Ability to integrate electrical components into designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.).
Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and/or 3D printing.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
