Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design from an accredited program is required.
- Three to five years of professional experience in urban landscape projects is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks, or the ability to learn the software within three months, is required.
- Strong 3D modeling skills and the ability to create final renderings are required.
- A solid understanding of landscape construction materials and methods is required.
- Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills are required.
- Strong organizational and team collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Help manage projects from concept through construction documentation and administration.
- Develop sketches, 3D models, and presentation materials to communicate ideas and explore alternatives.
- Conduct site visits, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure design intent is realized during construction administration.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, sharing clear and compelling design narratives.
- Contribute to the firm's evolving digital practice by exploring tools such as Rhino, Revit, large language models, and rendering software.
- Manage the design process and deliverables for assigned projects.
- Translate urban, ecological, and cultural context into thoughtful and buildable design solutions.
- Coordinate with the BIM Manager and multidisciplinary teams for smooth project delivery.
- Support and mentor junior designers.
- Maintain awareness of emerging design technologies and bring fresh ideas to the studio.
Desired Qualifications
- A landscape architectural license or progress toward licensure within two years is preferred.
- Experience with Revit for construction documentation is preferred.
- Experience with Grasshopper or Dynamo is preferred.
- Knowledge of horticulture and plant communities is preferred.
- Experience with community engagement and participatory design is preferred.
- Familiarity with computational analysis and artificial intelligence tools applied to design is preferred.
