Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school or program of imaging or radiologic technology.
  • Eligibility for registration in magnetic resonance imaging through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, with MRI registration required within one year of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross equivalent.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required, with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists MRI registration required within one year.
  • Zero to two years of modality-specific experience is required.
  • Experience with general MRI examinations, implants, elastography, and defecography.
  • Ability to perform high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Familiarity with age-specific criteria.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain and renew required registrations, licenses, Basic Life Support certification, PPD, respirator fit testing, and point-of-care training.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, repetitive hand and arm movements, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and assisted patient movement up to approximately 350 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain required corrected vision, hearing, sensory, motor, and peripheral-vision capabilities.
  • Physical qualification for respirator use by medical personnel initially and annually.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Employment authorization verification is required through the federal E-Verify program.
Responsibilities
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging examinations according to established protocols for physician interpretation.
  • Complete patient screening, examination documentation, and image verification in Radiology Information System and Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Maintain image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.
  • Follow departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.
  • Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
  • Use the SHIELD reporting platform when an event occurs outside a normal encounter.
  • Follow MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational standards.
  • Perform routine equipment quality-control checks, assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and place service tickets as needed.
  • Support onboarding and training of staff and students.
  • Participate in performance-improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.
  • Participate in staff meetings, lunch-and-learns, and quality meetings.
  • Rotate to other locations as needed for training or staffing.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
