Requirements
  • 8-10 years of experience in data-focused roles requiring interaction between business and technology teams.
  • Familiarity with data ecosystems, preferably in asset and/or wealth management, in relation to performance processes and critical inputs such as accounting, pricing, and benchmarks.
  • Ability to understand operational challenges, drive change, communicate concepts and business outcomes effectively, build relationships with business partners, work under pressure, solve problems through data and technology, and connect related issues.
  • Knowledge of vendors and technologies related to performance and data activities.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Performance Team to understand and deliver specific capabilities and requirements, working with platform providers and technology teams to implement tailored solutions.
  • Partner with business teams to understand performance workflows and develop data support models and solutions for local and global initiatives.
  • Support the roadmap for Mercer’s performance calculation and analysis capabilities and orchestrate programs of work that transform operational practices.
  • Prioritize and sequence roadmap activities with business and technology colleagues, balancing immediate value with long-term capabilities.
  • Define metrics and deliver dashboards to monitor progress and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Build partnerships with business, data, and technology partners and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and vendors.
  • Promote a data-driven culture supporting decision-making, risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for data and workflow innovation, and integrate continuous improvement into the strategic backlog for data-related changes.
  • Leverage new tools and technologies, including artificial intelligence, to advance data strategy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven collaboration with Performance Teams and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for evolving business needs.
  • Strong technical expertise in data wrangling, data creation, governance, integration, and interrogation, including defining and implementing data structures and models, data quality controls, and scalable datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Experience contributing to strategic visions and roadmaps for business change with global or multi-regional scope.
  • Exposure to investment asset classes and derivatives instruments.
  • Knowledge of cloud, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies, including the ability to understand data transformations across platforms, validate outputs end-to-end, and diagnose issues through targeted data wrangling and root-cause analysis.
  • CFA or CAIA certification.
