Job Description:
At Caterpillar’s South Milwaukee, WI facility, we manufacture electric rope shovels for mining operations. In this role as a Training Supervisor, you will report to the Group Manager and you will be primarily responsible for supervising the investigation, evaluation, development, and implementation of training programs to meet changing and evolving needs of the organization. As a member of the Manufacturing team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture at South Milwaukee, WI. What you will do:
 

• Identifies and prioritizes specialized technical and/or higher level management training needs for profit and/or service centers and recommends education and/or training solutions.
• Establishes training program requirements and obtain support for these programs from profit and service center management.
• Selects and purchases materials, services and evaluation methods to assure training needs are satisfied.
• Serves as an instructor or facilitator of training programs in management development, workplace literacy or technical training areas that require extensive background experience and expertise in the subject matter.
• Coordinates staff, vendor, consultant and community training services.
• Trains manufacturing and office instructors and coordinates related training as needed.
• Supervises the day to day activities of other training staff, trainees, or apprentices.
• Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
• Employee Development and Weld Training experience

Degree Requirement
 

• College degree or equivalent experience

Top Candidates Will Have

• Familiarity with Caterpillar policies and programs
• Certified Welding Inspector certification from AWS
• Certified Welding Education certification from AWS
• Strong ability to work with cross functional areas

• Documents and reports problems that arise during training sessions.

Training Needs Analysis:
• Provides feedback for the improvement of training needs collection methods.
• Participates in training suitability analysis for different levels in the organization.
• Selects appropriate tools and techniques to evaluate the gap between existing and expected performance.
• Defines key learning objectives for training sessions.
• Assesses training needs for employees within the organization.

Training Solution Development:
• Monitors training solution development in all phases of the training life cycle.
• Participates in developing a training solution for a documented need.
• Selects appropriate tools and techniques to develop training solutions.
• Analyzes successful examples of training solutions development.
• Assists in evaluating training development costs.

Training Technologies:
• Assists in the installation, configuration and support of training software.
• Selects software and hardware infrastructure to develop training processes.
• Uses specific technologies to develop and deliver training programs.
• Resolves training software and hardware connectivity and integration problems.
• Maintains e-learning systems to ensure the operation of online training programs.

The primary location for this position is South Milwaukee, WI

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
