Inspection Sitter
About the job
- Must hold a journeyman electrician license.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to set up and climb ladders if necessary.
- Must be able to drive long distances.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Represent the company at customers' homes prior to solar inspections.
- Meet with the municipal or utility inspector and provide information, if necessary, about the solar installation process and system components.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on customers' solar systems at the time of inspection; if a project fails inspection, complete necessary work, such as electrical fixes, to pass inspection.
- Obtain daily or weekly routes from the warehouse containing project documentation required onsite for inspection.
- Review site conditions and perform pre-inspection checks, including verifying that required labeling is complete and bolts are fastened.
- Arrive onsite 15 minutes before the inspection start time.
- Assist the inspector with opening solar equipment or the main panel.
- Complete the rapid shutdown test if required and properly commission the system if necessary.
- Previous solar experience is a plus.
