Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy Policy, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with energy infrastructure projects, specifically with a focus on natural gas, electric transmission, and/or hydro-power projects
  • Knowledge of environmental justice principles and concepts, with experience applying them in project assessments
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local energy regulatory processes and environmental policies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review and interpret complex environmental assessment documents and policies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare detailed reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders
  • Time management abilities with a track record of meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Team player able to collaborate with a diverse team and effectively communicate with FERC staff and other stakeholders
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (this employer participates in the e-Verify program)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” by the US Government's designated Security Office
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze environmental assessment documents from federal, state, and local agencies related to infrastructure projects in the energy sector, including natural gas, electric transmission, and hydro-power projects
  • Determine geographic scope by evaluating agency policies and practices to identify how they determine the geographic scope for assessing impacts on environmental justice communities
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings from the review and analysis of environmental assessment documents and geographic scope determinations for environmental justice communities
  • Contribute to the implementation of FERC's Equity Action Plan, ensuring environmental justice and equity considerations are integrated into FERC processes
  • Collaborate with FERC staff to share findings, present conclusions, and provide optional staff briefings on the analysis and reports
  • Develop presentations of findings and conclusions to communicate the results of the analysis effectively
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with environmental justice issues and policies, as well as knowledge of energy infrastructure projects, will be beneficial
  • Experience with energy infrastructure projects focusing on natural gas, electric transmission, and/or hydro-power projects is beneficial
