About the job
- Graduate from an approved school of Radiologic Technology accredited by CAHEA or JRCT.
- Hold advanced certification in MRI through ARRT or ARMRIT, or obtain MRI certification within two years of hire.
- Provide a college transcript for verification if invited to interview.
- Demonstrate superior technical knowledge and expertise in cross-sectional anatomy.
- Exercise independent judgment.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of magnetic resonance physics, biological effects on human tissue, medical implants, and MRI safety.
- Provide compassionate care to patients with claustrophobia and use mechanisms to help them overcome discomfort.
- Perform imaging procedures using sophisticated MRI technology.
- Operate magnets with different field strengths using powerful magnetic fields and radiofrequency waves.
- Adapt to changes in technology and new imaging techniques.
- Perform safe and effective imaging of patients with medical implants, including pacemakers, nerve stimulation devices, and electronic pumps.
- Enforce MRI safety.
- Operate under the general supervision of the Radiologist and MRI Supervisor.
- Work three 12-hour shifts per week, every third weekend, with required call coverage.
- Two years of cross-sectional imaging and/or computer-assisted imaging experience is preferred, with one year of full-time magnetic resonance experience preferred.
