Requirements
  • A Family Peer Advocate credential is required.
  • Must be the parent or primary caregiver of a child with serious emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Experience navigating mental health and related child-serving systems is required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work with diverse families.
Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy, support, and education to families participating in the Youth Assertive Community Treatment program.
  • Use lived experience to empower parents and caregivers and model resiliency and hope.
  • Assist families in navigating the mental health system and other child- and family-serving systems.
  • Facilitate parent support groups, family education sessions, and community engagement activities.
  • Promote quality services that enhance family voice and participation in care planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with program and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with program staff and treatment team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in parent or group facilitation, advocacy, or community organization is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are helpful.
