Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in billing, insurance verification, or related healthcare administration is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Verify insurance eligibility for AHCCCS, Medicare, and commercial plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in NextGen.
  • Assist with prior authorizations and coordination of benefits.
  • Support patients in understanding insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
  • Review financial documentation for Sliding Fee Scale eligibility.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Help uninsured or underinsured patients access grant-funded services.
  • Support revenue cycle functions including billing, denials management, and payment posting.
  • Contact patients regarding primary care provider updates and insurance changes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in medical billing or Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Experience in behavioral health, primary care, or Federally Qualified Health Center environments.
  • Familiarity with NextGen Practice Management or Electronic Health Record systems.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans.
