Requirements
  • An accredited Associate's Degree, or an accredited High School Diploma or GED with two years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to use motor coordination with finger dexterity for tasks such as keyboarding or machine operation.
  • Ability to handle objects up to 30 pounds most of the workday and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work around occupational risks including cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic chemicals.
  • Ability to work in environments involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements.
  • Ability to perform tasks in inclement weather.
Responsibilities
  • Transfer sharps containers and hazardous and non-hazardous materials throughout the facility.
  • Support the onsite Waste Management Sustainability Services program, including collecting, handling, packaging, transporting, and installing containers for medical waste, nonhazardous pharmaceutical waste, sharps, and hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
  • Assist when extra personnel are needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, container labeling requirements are followed, good housekeeping is maintained, and tracking logs are accurate.
  • Identify best practices to help customers reduce waste volumes, improve operational efficiency, optimize equipment usage, and generate cost savings.
  • Collect waste throughout the facility and provide support or direction to less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, follow written procedures, attend required training, and participate in scheduled meetings.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, or property damage to a supervisor.
  • Follow Environmental and Quality Management System ISO 14001/9001 policies, procedures, and operational controls related to job responsibilities.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and transportation regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Provide good customer service and de-escalation skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • 24-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training.
  • One year of restoration experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
