About the Company

Lake Michigan Credit Union

Member-owned financial co-op providing loans

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is a member-owned financial cooperative that offers personal and business banking services. It provides checking and savings accounts, credit cards, and loan products such as mortgages, home equity loans, and auto loans, with an emphasis on low mortgage rates and low down payment options. Members access services through physical branches and online banking, with revenue primarily from interest on loans and related financial fees. Unlike traditional banks, LMCU is owned by its members, which can enable more favorable rates and terms. The company serves communities in Michigan and Florida, combining local presence with digital banking to support everyday financial needs. Its goal is to deliver affordable, accessible financial services to its members while growing a stable, member-driven financial cooperative.
