Requirements
  • An Associate of Arts degree or equivalent military education/training is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program is required.
  • At least six months of experience as a practicing Certified Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • Current Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure must be maintained.
  • Current ARRT (R) and (CT) certification must be maintained.
  • ARRT (CT) boards must be passed within 12 months of training, independent work, and sign-off with a current competency checklist.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • The candidate must agree to take call and work holidays as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to access multiple worksites in a timely manner.
  • The candidate must maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, protected health information, nondisclosure, security, health and safety, and company policies.
  • The candidate must pass the required background check, excluded-individual screening, and post-offer pre-employment drug test.
  • Experience with required computer applications and incident-reporting systems is desired for the role.
  • The candidate must attend quarterly quality assurance meetings and meet attendance requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Independently perform CT studies that meet or exceed interpreting radiologists’ standards.
  • Follow established CT examination protocols and use professional judgment to reconstruct images for interpretation.
  • Ensure appropriate patient radiation dose and exam quality.
  • Communicate with radiologists to protocol examinations as needed.
  • Prepare equipment, exam rooms, contrast, sterile trays, and supplies; transport patients as needed; and clean rooms after studies.
  • Interview and assess patients, obtain histories and procedure consent, and review preparation checklists.
  • Perform contrast injections and intravenous starts or removals using universal precautions and sterile procedures.
  • Test and monitor intravenous sites, recognize contrast reactions, and provide appropriate patient care.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow isolation processes.
  • Physically assist patients on and off the CT table and safely use Hoyer lifts according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Communicate with patients during examinations to promote safety, immobility, and comfort.
  • Verify orders and exam indications.
  • Review completed studies for quality and acute or urgent findings.
  • Obtain or update required exam preauthorization when needed.
  • Complete exam paperwork, build patient exam worklists, present studies in PACS using appropriate hanging protocols, prepare patient history forms for the radiologist worklist, update exam codes, code exams for billing, and add medication and contrast charges.
  • Rotate to other shifts and locations as needed for staffing and patient care.
  • Troubleshoot CT equipment and report issues to the Manager or Director.
  • Coordinate patient care between technologists and clerical staff to support workflow.
  • Respond to information requests from patients, scheduling, and other departments.
  • Perform daily quality assurance.
  • Work in hospital, urgent care, or clinical settings as required.
  • Perform the site-specific CT procedures, including trauma, pediatric, anesthesia-supported, invasive, cardiac, angiography, vascular, coronary, orthopedic planning, transplant, and advanced three-dimensional imaging studies.
  • Follow site and departmental standards, support patient dignity and customer service, and comply with Joint Commission and HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and quarterly quality assurance meetings.

  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Medical office experience.
  • Understanding of procedures interpreted by radiologists.
  • Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, ISite, Qgenda, Internet/Intranet, Weex, EPIC, Medicalis, Datix, or Inland Imaging incident reports.
