Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 8 years of geotechnical experience, preferably in a consulting environment, is required.
  • An Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineering license is preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage geotechnical investigations from proposal through report completion, including scope development, field exploration, laboratory testing, technical analysis, and client communication.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, engineering calculations, and design recommendations for foundations, earthwork, slope stability, and site development projects.
  • Lead geohazard evaluations, including desktop studies, field investigations, risk assessments, and development of mitigation strategies for geologically challenging sites.
  • Design slope stabilization and landslide remediation measures, including retaining walls, soil nails, ground anchors, and reinforced earth systems.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction-phase recommendations for geohazard mitigation projects.
  • Provide input and designs for building foundations, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslide remediation, and roadway rehabilitation.
  • Oversee construction materials testing services for earthwork, foundations, and slope stabilization.
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master of Science degree is preferred.
  • Geotechnical experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
  • An Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineering license is preferred.
