Are you passionate about providing top-notch customer service in residential property management? Look no further! We are seeking driven, professional & energetic candidates to join our Residential Operations team for the position Building Operator located at our properties located in Goderich, Ontario.

As a Building Operator, you’ll play an important role in keeping our residential communities safe, clean, and running smoothly. From completing maintenance requests and supporting preventative maintenance programs to monitoring building systems, coordinating contractors, and responding to resident concerns, you’ll help create a well-maintained living environment where residents are proud to call home.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Complete preventative, and corrective maintenance in occupied and vacant residential units, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, repairs, and turnover support.
• Inspect building systems, common areas, vacant units, mechanical and electrical rooms, and exterior spaces to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors and trades, monitor service work, support project scopes, and help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
• Support a positive resident experience by maintaining strong communication, following up on concerns, and upholding Skyline’s commitment to service excellence.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation, respond to site emergencies, and support snow removal, salting, notices, move-ins, move-outs, and other property needs as required.

What You Bring

• Hands-on building operations and maintenance experience, including knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, life safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and security systems, with the ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, and general maintenance tasks with care and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a professional approach to working with residents, contractors, and team members.
• A self-motivated, organized approach with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Post-secondary education in an applicable trade or equivalent experience, plus at least three years of relevant building operations experience.
• Comfort using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and smart phone technology, along with a commitment to Health & Safety, WHMIS, and company procedures.
• Ability to learn new systems and software’s used to track, delegate, prioritize and organize requests as they come in.
