Requirements
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate program with a focus on Public Health, Social Work, Food Justice, or a relevant field.
  • Strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, program development, or food security.
  • Strong research, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive fundraising research focused on food security, nutrition access, and community-based food programs.
  • Identify and track foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities, including deadlines, eligibility criteria, and funding priorities.
  • Maintain and update fundraising research trackers, calendars, and prospect lists.
  • Support the program development team with early-stage grant preparation, including summarizing requests for proposals, drafting opportunity briefs, and compiling background materials.
  • Monitor seasonal funding trends and help anticipate upcoming opportunities, particularly during peak summer grant cycles.
  • Assist with additional food security fundraising tasks as needed, including data gathering, impact research, and donor landscape analysis.
