Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in this state.

  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for quality care.
  • Must possess a current CPR certification.
  • Must maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Must move intermittently throughout the workday and be able to push, pull, move, or carry at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and distance of 50 feet.
  • Must be able to assist in evacuating residents during emergencies.
  • Must meet the facility’s general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing assistant activities in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Plan shift services, programs, and activities with assigned nursing staff and support personnel.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations concerning shift activities.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain each resident’s total care regimen.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, facility surveys, discharge planning, and policy and procedure updates.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete associated records, forms, reports, and documentation.
  • Complete and maintain resident charts, nurses’ notes, medication records, care plans, accident and incident reports, transfer forms, and other required documentation.
  • Receive and transcribe physicians’ orders and communicate discrepancies or required changes to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, verify resident identities, maintain medication supplies, and manage narcotic records.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing needs, and recommend personnel actions to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Develop work assignments, provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, make rounds, monitor performance, and report problem areas.
  • Ensure nursing assistants and trainees meet applicable training and supervision requirements.
  • Provide resident care, including admissions, orientation, physician coordination, treatments, monitoring, restorative programs, specimen collection, vital signs, and emergency care.
  • Perform professional nursing services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, blood collection, range-of-motion exercises, and post-mortem care.
  • Review resident care plans and ensure care is delivered according to residents’ plans and wishes.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct in-service training and orientation programs for nursing personnel.
  • Monitor safety, sanitation, infection control, personal protective equipment, emergency preparedness, and equipment use within assigned areas.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical supply, and equipment stock and recommend unit or shift needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Assist with resident assessment and care-plan activities, including scheduling and revising the Minimum Data Set and related care processes.
  • Report suspected fraud and provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego.
