Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the project document control system in line with company procedures and client requirements.
  • Register, distribute, track, and retrieve documents.
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely submission and receipt of documentation.
  • Prepare transmittals, maintain logs, and generate reports on documentation status.
  • Ensure document traceability and secure storage of confidential records.
  • Train and support junior document controllers in following established procedures.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with quality assurance/quality control and project requirements.

Wood selected by Serica Energy to support Bruce Platform life extension. Wood, a global leader in consulting, engineering and operations, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) framework contract... Wood, a global leader in consulting, engineering and operations, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) framework contract with Serica Energy to support the extension of the life of the Bruce platform in the UK North Sea. Under the five-year framework contract, Wood will deliver a portfolio of engineering services covering engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning on the asset which will support the extension of production through to 2030 and beyond, while improving operational efficiency and reliability. In case you missed it: The portfolio will be delivered by a substantial multidisciplinary team of Wood personnel in Aberdeen and offshore, drawing on established asset knowledge to support operational continuity. Steve Nicol, Chief Operating Officer of Operations at Wood, said: "This contract reflects the trust Serica Energy places in our ability to provide safe, predictable and integrated EPCC services. We will apply our deep asset knowledge and collaborative approach to support Serica's long-term plans for the Bruce platform and help maximise value through reliable execution." Wood has partnered with Serica Energy since 2018, most recently bringing the Bruce flare gas recovery system into operation. This year, Wood will deliver several projects for Serica Energy, spanning project delivery, offshore construction and commissioning.

CHA appoints Erik Larson as Chief Operating Officer. CHA Consulting, Inc. (CHA) announced the appointment of Erik Larson as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. An accomplished operational leader, Larson brings more than two decades of experience spanning engineering, consulting, energy, technology, and the military. In his new role, Erik will serve on the executive leadership team and be responsible for driving operational excellence, enterprise performance, and profitable growth across the organization. Working alongside its operations and corporate teams, he will lead enterprise-wide transformation to achieve CHA's value-creation goals, including operational leadership and scalability, growth and performance, project-delivery excellence, sector collaboration, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, and integration of new firms. Erik formerly served as President of Corporate Development and Strategy at Wood, a global consulting and engineering company, where he led enterprise-wide strategy, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and portfolio optimization initiatives. He previously held executive leadership roles during his 14-year tenure at Jacobs and has seven years of active service in the U.S. Army. H&MV engineering appoints ken Gilmartin to lead U.S. Operations. 21 Aug 2026 H&MV Engineering has appointed Ken Gilmartin, former CEO of Wood, as Executive Vice President, U.S., as the company accelerates its expansion in the American market. Based in Dallas, Gilmartin will lead H&MV's U.S. operations and oversee its growing portfolio across high-voltage infrastructure, data centres, energy and renewable projects. He previously held senior leadership roles at Jacobs. The appointment comes as H&MV expands its U.S. presence. The company entered the market in 2025, acquired Texas-based Cooke Power Services in January 2026 and plans to open its Dallas headquarters later this year. The move follows a recent investment transaction valuing H&MV at approximately €1.4 billion, supporting its international expansion. H&MV currently has more than 1,900 employees and over 24 GW of projects in design and construction.

Wood secures contract for Dung Quat Refinery Upgrade and Expansion Project. Published by Ellie Brosnan, Editorial Assistant Hydrocarbon Engineering, Thursday, 30 July 2026 12:00 Wood has been awarded a new contract from Binh Son Refining (BSR) to carry out Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the Dung Quat Refinery Upgrade and Expansion Project in Vietnam. Following completion of the feasibility study and front-end engineering design (FEED) phases, Wood will manage and supervise delivery of the project on BSR's behalf - covering design and engineering review, procurement, and contract management, project controls, quality, HSSE, construction management, and commissioning support. The US$1.5 billion upgrade and expansion will modernise Vietnam's first oil refinery which is critical to the country's energy security. Commissioning is scheduled to begin in 2028, with the expansion increasing refining capacity to 171 000 bpd and adding six proprietary technology units which will enable the site to process varying types of crude oil. The upgraded facility will also produce fuels that meet Euro 5 emission standards, supporting Vietnam's environmental objectives and regulatory requirements. At a signing ceremony in Hanoi earlier this month, John Mtanios, Wood's President of APAC, said: "We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with BSR on this strategically important project for Vietnam. Having supported BSR for more than 30 years, delivering feasibility Studies, FEED, and PMC services, we are proud to contribute to the country's energy security ambitions while supporting the production of cleaner, more sustainable fuels." Mantel and Wood announce MOU to scale high-temperature carbon capture. May 20, 2026 BY Mantel Capture, Inc. Mantel announced Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Wood to expand deployment of high-temperature carbon capture technology across industrial sectors. Under the agreement, Mantel named Wood its preferred technology provider for fired-equipment integration in future commercial projects. The companies said the partnership builds on years of collaboration integrating carbon capture systems into industrial equipment including boilers, gas turbines and once-through steam generators. Mantel said the agreement supports commercialization of its molten-borate carbon capture technology, which is designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency by capturing carbon dioxide directly from high-temperature industrial processes without cooling and reheating flue gas. The partnership is already advancing Mantel's first commercial project, a steam-assisted gravity drainage facility in Western Canada. Wood is leading front-end engineering and design work for the project, which is expected to capture about 60,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually while producing 150,000 metric tons of high-pressure steam for operations. "Successfully deploying carbon capture in heavy industry requires more than innovative chemistry; it has to work within the realities of how these systems run day in and day out," said Cameron Halliday, Mantel co-founder and CEO. Wood said integrating carbon capture directly into steam generation systems could reduce emissions and improve efficiency in hard-to-abate sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing and power generation. Mantel and Wood said additional projects are already in development across multiple industries.
