Requirements
  • Water Treatment Level 1 certification or higher is required.
  • Canadian residency for a minimum of five years is required to qualify for the industrial security screening program for access to the CFB Wainwright site.
  • Candidates must submit a resume, cover letter, and copies of valid water treatment and/or distribution certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, including instrument verification, cleaning, and calibration across the facility.
  • Lead laboratory work and water quality sampling for turbidity, residual chlorine, pH, ammonia, and other measures at multiple distribution-system locations.
  • Monitor and control the SCADA system, observe plant performance in real time, and respond proactively to alarms.
  • Manage and optimize chemical dosing for potassium permanganate, sulphuric acid, gas chlorine, aqueous ammonia, and polymer.
  • Operate and maintain GE membrane micro-filtration systems, including weekly Clean-in-Place procedures across three units.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter changes, greasing, and pneumatic valve rebuilds as part of the monthly program.
  • Execute daily quality-assurance rounds at two reservoirs and a pump house to verify system integrity.
  • Backwash four dual-media sand filters on a scheduled and demand basis.
  • Manage chemical inventory and initiate procurement as needed.
  • Enter operational data accurately into the Simo Management Water Database.
  • Collaborate with on-site contractors and support DND-requested testing protocols.
  • Perform janitorial duties and groundskeeping to contribute to a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Participate in an after-hours callout rotation after training.

  • A drive to learn, a strong safety mindset, and pride in doing quality work are valued.
  • Confined Space, First Aid, Fall Arrest, TDG, and Chlorine Handling certifications are assets or will be provided by the company.
